Today, the Latino Coalition for a Healthy California is excited to release our 2022 Latinx Health Policy Agenda and Policy Priorities package. Throughout 2021 and into this year’s legislative cycle – we have thoughtfully and purposefully determined where our advocacy efforts will be directed to have the most meaningful impact on policies that affect the lives of Latinxs throughout California.
The Roadmap:
This year our Agenda includes a deeper look into how LCHC arrives at these priorities through our thoughtful and people-centered approach to our advocacy. We call this the The LCHC Advocacy Roadmap.
The Roadmap consists of:
- People-centered Policy: Centering the voices and power of communities on the ground to identify and lead policy initiatives that will advance Latinx health.
- Legislative Action: Engaging in California’s policy and administrative process to highlight Latinx voices at the Capitol by supporting legislation and state budget investments that will improve the health outcomes of Latinxs in California.
- Latinx Health Policy Summit: Bringing together Latinx grassstops and grassroots leaders and allies to provide insights surrounding intersectional and multicultural solutions that address inequities among Latinx communities.
- Latinx Health Policy Agenda: The Latinx Health Policy Agenda focuses on both ongoing and new legislative and administrative efforts.
The roadmap is the set of strategic milestones in LCHC’s advocacy process that enables us to identify health issues impacting Latinxs and policies to address these issues which we then advocate for in our LCHC Policy Agenda.

Altogether this has led to our 2022 Latinx Health Policy Agenda which focuses on both ongoing and new
legislative efforts as well as implementation of previous policy to advance three policy areas that address keyhealth issues to improve Latinx health outcomes:
- Healthcare and Health Equity For All
- Building Healthy Communities
- Health and Human Rights

Our LCHC 2022 Policy Priorities:
This year, we have identified a combination of 7 major pieces of legislation and budget priorities that will make up the core of our advocacy efforts. Each piece of legislation falls under at least one of our key issue areas above to address some of the most pressing health disparities impacting Latinxs.
