As you might have heard, the Medi-Cal program, which serves almost 15 million low-income Californians – over half who are Latine – is facing alarming budget cuts. These cuts proposed by Governor Newsom in his May Revision update to the 25-25 budget are not only inequitable, they are unconscionable as they will primarily impact immigrant families and communities who already face increased health and socio-economic disparities.
