We’re excited to release our FIRST annual impact report “Semillas: Sprouting Through the Pavement” – 2021 LCHC Impact Report.

In 2021, our organization’s decades of collective experience and years of care sprouted through the pavement of the the COVID-19 crisis. We learned so many lessons, most importantly, that the lack of trust and linguistically and culturally-tailored information channels between government and health systems to and from Latinx communities sharpened the thorns of inequality. In order to rise to the historic moment and meet the profound needs of the Latinx community highlighted by COVID-19, we creatively leveraged our trusted partners, community network, political capital, organizational capacity, and deep relations with local, county, and state officials to push for Latinx needs to be heard and addressed. Moving forward, we remain committed to lifting the voices of intergenerational and intersectional community leaders, partnering with multi-issue and multi-sector organizations, and advancing policy and system changes to build a healthy California for all. As we march toward 2022, we are on our way to full bloom and with the collective partnership of our comunidad, will continue to grow.

Here are a few snapshots of what we accomplished together in 2021:

  • 50+ partner organizations engaged
  • $3.5+ million in new fundraising (4x previous year)
  • $250K+ distributed to Latinx CBOs and businesses
  • 400K+ reach across social media platforms
  • 53 legislative visits with State, Federal, and local officials
  • 20,980 persons reached through community capacity building trainings
  • 400+ attended 2021 Virtual Latinx Health Policy Summit
