Lupe Alonzo-Diaz has over 17 years of experience in the public and non-profit sector. She is the Executive Director of the Health Professions Education Foundation and was recently appointed Acting Deputy Director of the Healthcare Workforce Development Division. Previous to that, she served as the Acting Chief Deputy Director for the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) from June 2011 to March 2012.
Ms. Alonzo-Diaz’s non-profit experience includes serving as the Executive Director of the Latino Coalition for a Healthy California, Legislative Advocate for Western Center on Law and Poverty, Senior Advocate for the Children’s Advocacy Institute and Fiscal Analyst for MALDEF.
Ms. Alonzo-Diaz graduated with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Economy as well as History from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Austin. She lives in Elk Grove, California with her husband, Jose Salud; their 2-year old son, Jacob Santiago; and her mother, Maria.
