Latinos and Mental Health: A Look at the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA)
Today, California’s Latinos are among the fastest growing segment of the state’s population, yet the issue of mental health still remains largely misunderstood and even taboo in the Latino community. This misunderstanding is compounded by issues related to language barriers, access to services and insurance coverage, and lack of culturally appropriate care. Unfortunately, California’s Latinos have higher prevalence rates in chronic conditions, proven to lead to anxiety and even depression. Clearly our physical health is linked to our mental health and well-being. Join us to learn more about Latinos and the issue of mental health, including an update on the Mental Health Services Act. This event is free and open to the public. To view the event flyer, please click here. Please RSVP to lchc@lchc.org
